Salary: Main/Upper Scale (Inner London) + TLR2b

The Alec Reed Academy is an Ofsted ‘Good’ school and an exciting place to work. In July 2018 it received praise from Ofsted who described it as ‘at the heart of its community, an inclusive school with leadership providing excellent role models and maintaining the good quality of education since the last inspection in 2015’.

This role has become available due to the relocation of the current post holder after 4 1/2 successful years at the Academy. We seek to appoint an experienced and exceptional teacher with the leadership qualities, management skills and drive necessary to contribute to leading the further development of English & Literacy at the Academy. The vacancy provides an excellent opportunity to work in a high quality and well-resourced environment and to join a team of experienced, successful and highly motivated teachers. This is an important role to commence in September.

The appointee should be an experienced and outstanding teacher able to demonstrate an excellent record of public examination success and with a desire to further shape the delivery of English & Literature in the Secondary Phase. The successful post holder will be expected to teach across the age and ability range to secure the continued success of English & Literature.

As an Academy we enjoy a low staff turnover and a higher than normal team of support staff including dedicated Student & Family Education Workers assigned to each Year Group, CLASS Workers assigned to curriculum areas and a high investment in CPD. The Academy offers excellent career and professional development. The Academy is outer London but with Inner London pay and offers free on-site parking, free use of the gym, subsidised meals and family friendly policies including dependents entitlement. The successful candidate can also benefit from a personalised development plan.
