Summer school 2021
Summer School 2021
In accordance with the guidance and conditions of funding, Alec Reed Academy operated a Summer School during the week of the 16th to the 20th August 2021. The Summer School formed part of the national catch up strategy in response to the learning time lost during Covid-19. £12,681 of government funding was used to staff and resource the five days of activities and to provide the children with free lunch and refreshments. All year 6 pupils, transitioning into year 7, were invited to attend with approximately 75 pupils participating on each day. A blend of academic and enrichment activities were organised which supported learning across various strands of the curriculum including literacy and numeracy. The funding has also been used to provide every child within the year group with additional resource material in the core subjects of English, maths and science. These will further enhance their learning and support home learning.
