Students at the Alec Reed Academy celebrate outstanding BTEC and A-Level results
Students at the Alec Reed Academy are celebrating outstanding BTEC and A-Level results. 58% of A Level students achieved A*-C grades. Congratulations to Tejasbna Sehdev who achieved two A* grades and one A grade and Sammara Abbasi who achieved A and two B grades.
In Applied General and Technical qualifications over 25% of students achieved the Distinction* and 56% of all students achieved Distinction grades.
Congratulations to William Blithing and Anissa Ibrahim who both achieved three Distinction* grades in Sports Studies and Health and Social Care courses and to Riffat Bukhari on gaining the Distinction* in Business Studies. 75% of Art students achieved A*-B grades, 50% of students in English & History achieved A*-B grades and 27% of BTEC Sport students achieved D*D*D*.
Large numbers of students study post-16 courses at the Academy and the number of student applications has grown rapidly. Gary Lobbett, CEO said: "These are absolutely outstanding results. I am delighted that so many of our students have met and surpassed their challenging personal targets and aspirations. This success is the result of the dedication, commitment and hard work of staff, the positive attitudes of our students and the high level of support received from parents. I am very proud of our students’ achievements and of the teaching and support teams across the Academy who guide and encourage students throughout the year. Congratulations to everyone involved."
